Hey fellow soon to be new grads and recent grads! Congrats to us for getting so far. :)

I'm curious about the stats here related to new grad job hunts.

1. How many places have you applied so far?

2. How many new grad postings vs. regular postings?

3. How many have you heard from one way or the other?

4. Any job offers yet?

For me...

1. 15 hospitals and 18 jobs

2. 13 new grad, 5 regular postings

3. Five - three outright rejections, one interview and subsequent rejection, and one upcoming interview

4. None yet!

Feel free to come back and update us about any changes, especially if you get some good changes. :) Thanks for giving in to my curiosity!

1. How many places have you applied so far? 15+ hospitals, clinics, offices, etc. for 30+ positions

2. How many new grad postings vs. regular postings? Mostly all new grad openings, maybe 3 or 4 regular positions

3. How many have you heard from one way or the other? 2 rejections and 2 offers to interview

4. Any job offers yet? 2 job offers

Specializes in Operating Room.

I applied for about 10 positions, to which I got a response from maybe 6. I was offered a position on my dream unit and accepted, obviously. Im in Indiana, there are really no hiring troubles here, I have my BSN and graduated with a class of 85, to which many are already finding jobs not even a month post-graduation. It must really depend on where you live.

I don't know if I can call myself a 'new grad' anymore as I graduated back in December of 2011 and have had my license for nearly a year, but here are my answers:

1. How many places have you applied so far?

I've applied to about a dozen different facilities and put in just over 200 specific applications.

2. How many new grad postings vs. regular postings?

I'd guess that about 70 were new grad postings, the remainder were regular postings.

3. How many have you heard from one way or the other?

I've had about 30 applications with no response whatsoever. The majority of the jobs aren't direct responses, but I can log back into their system and find the rejection there. I've received three interviews, but only one was for a job that I put an application in for!

4. Any job offers?

No. :(

I'm still plugging away at this and actually received a call for another interview. It's one of the facilities that I've interviewed with before, so hopefully I can make a better impression this time and get my first job offer!

Specializes in Home Health.

Started a week ago, so only 8 applications sent to 5 hospitals and 1 training center for mentally and physically disabled adults. There are no positions for new grads specifically within 1.5 hours from where I live. I heard back from one hospital yesterday saying that I needed to reapply for their New Grad position at a hospital that's way too far from me. Hoping to hear something from a couple of the OB positions I applied for. *fingers crossed* Might have to consider a longer commute if I'm going to get a job. :/

I sent 9 applications so far. 5 to hospitals/hospital clinics (not specifically new grad, but the few ones that had year of experience preferred rather than required), 3 to home health, 1 to LTC. No word at all from the hospital ones, but all the home health and the LTC offered me jobs. The home health ones were all really low-paying and weird shift assignments. The LTC is really nice, with a more acute short-stay unit, so I accepted there. The surprising thing is they didn't have a specific opening available - I just submitted my resume to be on file and got a call back a couple weeks later.

I'm in Ohio and I applied to about 10 positions so far; five of them being new graduate positions. I had two interviews at hospitals out of state, and two interviews at LTC facilities near me. I heard nothing back from the hospitals-one I interviewed a week ago and one a month ago. I got two job offers from both LTC facilities but they were only part time with bad schedules- one was working 3 days in a week then off a week, and the other was every other weekend. Plus as I mentioned in another post, one paid only $17 hour as a RN. I turned those down, so no job yet. Oh by the way, I haven't gotten my RN license yet (or even my ATT) since the Ohio Board on Nursing is slow. I'll probably just wait until I get my license to apply for other jobs.

Reached the third month of job hunting and the rejections are slowly coming in. Fantastic! >_>

Applied to 5 hospitals, 1 out of state new grad rejected, 4 in-state hospitals 11 new grad positions, 3 interviews as of today, 1 coming up, 3 offers. 1 did not respond at all and 6 rejections.

Just scheduled my second ever interview, for a position I applied to about a month ago. Just getting interviews is super exciting, but hopefully this one leads to a job offer. Keep your fingers crossed for me please! ;)

Just curious why you didn't accept the offers. I haven't had my offers yet, just interviews.

Good luck. I am in the same boat, just interviews, no offers.
