Please help! I have an interview tomorrow for a position at a college as a LVN instructor. I have a BSN, currently working on my MSN. I have three years of experience as a RN.

What should I bring with me? The panel is 5 committee members.

Any advice would be awesome!

Thanks in advance.

I wrote a statement of my philosophy of teaching, and I think this helped me. Also, any letters of recommendation are helpful. Any lessons/presentations you have prepared in the past may also be helpful.

Thanks. I submitted my philosophy of teaching with my application. I think I'm going to make hard copies of everything I submitted so that I can give each member his/ her own copy. I'm also require to give a 3 minute speech about my speciality. So wish me luck. Lol

When I interviewed each member of the panel took turns asking questions. These are standard questions they ask at every interview. They also do a lot of writing as you answer. Your presentation is requested so that they get a feel of your teaching style, so try not to read it, make eye contact & most important, try your best to stick to the time limit. They like to see if you are able to do this without going over or under the 3 minutes. Mine was 10 minutes & this was very hard. I would imagine 3 minutes would be harder. Good luck!

How did your interview go?!!

It went good, I think. They have asked me to come back tomorrow to meet with the executive committee which includes the dean of the college and the Presidents cabinet. So I'm excited to see what happens.

So they offered me the job. Now I have a decision to make cause I have 2 job offers, the college and a clinic. Do y'all think it would be impossible to be a LVN instructor and try to continue with getting my masters degree at the same time?

Congratulations on your job offers. No it is not impossible to be a LVN instructor and pursue a masters degree at the same time. I will find out Monday if I got the job to also be a LVN instructor. I had my interview, teaching presentation, and clinical setting presentation. I also work in a hospital setting and January I am going to Walden University for my masters degree. I think we will be fine. Just take one day at a time. Good luck to us.

Congratulations to both you!! and yes it is possible to teach and work on your masters degree. I teach full time in an ADN program and I just finished my masters in nursing education (online)....
