CNE SAE Scores

Specialties Educators

Hi,

I have been studying for the CNE for the past month or so. I've read Billings & Halstead, did the online review through nurse Tim, read the NLN review book, and taken both SAE offered by the NLN with scores of 77% and 86%. I have also taken practice questions from several different resources. For those who have taken the SAE practice exams, would you say that your scores on those correlated with your performance on the actual exam? I feel like I'm all studied out, but I don't want to him the gun and test too soon and not be successful.

Thanks

I took and passed the CNE exam today!!

Congratulations!!

Thank you! I'm glad it's over with! There was no information on the test that wasn't familiar! Billings and Halstead was definitely the best resource along with the SAE exams. I also liked the certified nurse educator review manual by Wittman-Price.

Great info, thanks!! :)

Hi there,

Congratulations! You did move your date up, and it worked. What would you say out of the resources was most helpful? Obviously, what ever strategies used worked out. I know you are relieved. I certainly hope I get the same news when I test. Again, way to go!

Thank you!! The most helpful resource hands down is Billings & Halstead. The SAE offered by the NLN was just like the questions on the exam so that gave me an idea of how the information would be tested. I took every practice question I could find. I used the Mometrix practice book which has 300 questions. Also the CNE exam secrets book. The test is application and analysis. The quizlet notes were helpful as well. Out of all those theories I may have had 3 questions on theories.

There is also a CNE question app by Wittmam-Price with 340 questions for $20.

This is great information, and I will continue to use these strategies to prepare. You have been very helpful and encouraging :-)

Thank you

You're most welcome.

Congratulations on your success. I thought that exam was one of the most rigorous exams; however, I took it before the books or courses came out to review for it. Congratulations!

Congrats, that is amazing!

I just registered for my exam yesterday. I am on a tight budget. I already have the 4th Edition of Billings & Halstead; Teaching in Nursing (hope the 4th edition is still relevant)...But what are 1-2 other things that were really beneficial to your success? Thanks in advance.
