The author recently inherited a challenging class of nursing students that were difficult to engage in the learning process. A brief survey was administered to the students during the first class meeting. It provided the author with each student's personal perspectives of their needs and expectations while providing them with a vehicle for venting their frustrations, voicing their needs, and reflecting on their learning experience thus far. As a result, every student became an active participant in a successful learning experience. Nurses Announcements Archive Article
