What is fair pay rate for my situation?

Have been offered a PRN position at $27 per hour plus 25% differential. Have not worked in 10 years but have 14 prior years experience in this specialty. When I left 10 years ago was making $33.80 per hour. Don't want to be greedy just want to know if this seems fair. Would love some feedback before accepting.

If you haven't worked in nursing for 10 years, it's a miracle you got a job at all. I'm sure plenty of people will come along and disagree with me, but, in your situation, I would be happy for whatever I got offered. Times are hard these days, nursing market is saturated in lots of places, lots of nurses have gotten laid off or gotten pay cuts, it makes sense that you would get offered less than you used to make, esp. with 10 years out of the field. I thought it sounded fair. I was offered another position before this one and when salary was discussed they wanted to know what it would take to get me to take the job. I had no idea what to say other than what I was making when I left my position years ago. I have no idea what a new grad makes these days but I'm not a new grad since I do have a lot of experience in this specialty. I appreciate the feedback.

Kudos to you for being accepted for a position as an RN. I wouldn't worry so much about that pay rate. With you getting your foot back in the door, you can get the recent experience many positions are requiring these days.
