Time for a change?

  1. I am a FT 11P-7A M/S RN in a small rural hospital. I have been an RN since 1992 and have worked only at this hospital. I have worked night shift for around 15 years. My hospital has a Public Employee Retirement Plan. The rule for retirement is "the rule of 88" (when your age + years of service=88 you are eligible to retire). I am 49 now, so I really potentially could retire in less than 10 years. My dilemma is I am truly ready for a change. Outside the hospital setting. I'm not sure what, but I'm afraid at this late stage in the game, it would be financially unwise to move. Any suggestions or insight?
