Scored Inteview on Postpartum Floor. Tips Pls!!

Hi All

After months of looking for a job and hearing that everywhere was full..I finally scored a interview for a night position on the postpartum floor with promise of L & D training as well. What are some questions that I should be prepared to answer that are specific to that floor? Thanks!!

"What does it mean to be 'baby-friendly'"?
"What is your philosophy on mother/infant care"?
"How do you involve families in care"?

and the old standbys: "what are your greatest strengths and weaknesses"? "Tell me about a time when you had to overcome a challenge at work".

And good luck! Postpartum's a blast!

Congrats on the interview!!1

I just found out yesterday I was hired for night PostPartum position. I had 3 interviews. 1 with HR, 1 with Nurse Manager, then with Peers.

HR asked all the basic questions : Work ethic, strengths, weakness, how do you hand complaints... same ol''

With nurse manager, her and I really hit if off. It felt like we knew each other for years. She was super sweet so we mostly just talked and got acquainted with each other. The 4 quetions she asked was: How do you handle complaints (again) Hardest situation you got yourself into and how did you get out, What does it mean to be a team player and give a situation where you worked as a team, How do you handle stress

With peer interview it was mostly the same questions. Again we just got acquainted and luckily I really fit in w\ the nurses.

Good Luck and let us know how it goes!
