I have been a Registered Nurse for 12 years, however, over the past four years, I have been in a non-clinical role. I have applied virtually everywhere and have never even received a call back?I am wondering if I take this course, if that might sweaten the pot a bit and get me in the door? Anyone else experience this? BC otherwise, I think I have to go back to school for something else!

Also, if you did an online program, what one did you do, would you recommend it? Did you have a clinical componant at the end of the coursework? Did anyone receive job offers from them?

I need your help, I appreciate it!

I have been a nurse for 28 years and just recently became unemployed.....it has been 3 years since I did active hands on nursing. I believe you are somewhat younger than I am. There are probably some ways to do nursing without recent experience. I am having a hell of a time. First, go to flexjobs.com and you can look for Nursing Jobs. You can search by category or location. Indeed.com and Careerbuilder.com are good sites also. Companies....Quintiles, Parexel, GSK, McKesson, United Health Group, Humana, PPD-(Pharmaceutical Product Development) Parexel usually has drug safety associate positions. So does Quintiles, and GSK. McKesson has nurse advice lines (Carenet, Fonemed are some other ones also.) United Health Group and Humana has case management jobs--they should train you. PPD does medical information...PPD contracts with huge companies--Lily, Novodisk, Baxter etc and trains its employees to answer medical questions on specific products that each company makes.

Right now, I am just burned out on looking for a job. I have down graded my search to customer service jobs--anything. I just need a desk job. a job period. This is a sad state to be in. I wish you good luck and do not give up.
