I have been a nurse for 28 years and just recently became unemployed.....it has been 3 years since I did active hands on nursing. I believe you are somewhat younger than I am. There are probably some ways to do nursing without recent experience. I am having a hell of a time. First, go to flexjobs.com and you can look for nursing jobs
. You can search by category or location. Indeed.com and Careerbuilder.com are good sites also. Companies....Quintiles, Parexel, GSK, McKesson, United Health Group, Humana, PPD-(Pharmaceutical Product Development) Parexel usually has drug safety associate positions. So does Quintiles, and GSK. McKesson has nurse advice lines (Carenet, Fonemed are some other ones also.) United Health Group and Humana has case management jobs--they should train you. PPD does medical information...PPD contracts with huge companies--Lily, Novodisk, Baxter etc and trains its employees to answer medical questions on specific products that each company makes.
Right now, I am just burned out on looking for a job. I have down graded my search to customer service jobs--anything. I just need a desk job. a job period. This is a sad state to be in. I wish you good luck and do not give up.
