Reinstatement of License after voluntary surrender

Hi, I'm new to this site and am looking for guidance from fellow nurses.

I surrendered my license after a complaint of physical and emotional abuse. I received documentation stating what I needed to do.

It's been 10 years and I'm getting my courage up...but am still afraid of what the outcome will be. There were no criminal charges brought against me. I was suffering from depression and burnout when all of this happened and I regret it everyday.

I've got my CEU's in order and I sent an email to the BON asking to send me the appropriate forms and the necessary documentation. I've been praying over this. I admit my fault and I believe that I can be a good nurse again.

Has anyone gotten their license back?

Please let me know...

Thank you!

Thank you and God Bless you...you are in my prayers as well...:)

Good luck. I hope that you are better now to handle the pressure that occurs though. I have heard from many nurses that the pressure of nursing care has gotten worse throughout the last couple of years.

thank you for your support....things that will be different this time:

1. take better care of myself...very few double shifts...very little overtime....eat well!!....instead of just coming home and flopping on the couch, go out be apart of a group......hobbies...

2. take a stress management course

3. Set up with a counselor....I'm sure the transition back will be rough...

4. maintain a good support system by keeping contacts with friends, family, etc. Nurturing relationships

5. Coming to Allnurses.com to chat it out...

I believe that I'll succeed...

have a good evening!
