Recruiters...GRRRRR! (venting)

by cvryder

I recently posted a resume on a couple of job boards. It states quite clearly in the "Objective" section that I am seeking a PERMANENT position in a particular area. I am planning to relocate to that area, though the specific location is yet to be determined and will depend on the job offers.

HOWEVER....I have been inundated by phone calls and e-mails from recruiters for assorted travel companies, offering travel assignments everywhere including about halfway around the world from where I plan to relocate. It's gotten so bad that I don't even answer my phone unless I see someone's name on my caller ID who's on my list, and I have to keep my phone off if I want to sleep.

I swear I wonder if these "recruiters" are bots, or if they just can't read! I am SO over this!!!!!! Friends have had good results from these job boards, but I'm not so sure.

I hear you! Those recruiters are very annoying. When I put up my resume and what I was looking for on a job board (a major one that I won't list)I got a bunch of recruiters calling and emailing, and they weren't even close to the type of job I had advertised for. Most were sales and insurance companies. Very desperate people if you ask me.

Oh me too you guys!!!
Fresh out of NS I'd have these travel agencies call. I never applied to them. They found me!

Then of course I had to explain that I had no experience, and suddenly I felt like I was having to defend myself. DOH! What a great start, huh?
