Question regarding Job application online

Hi, I was wondering does anyone know that when H&R post a job online and gives a window of days to turn in application if your chances of hire go down if dont turn in application at beginning? Basically, is the person more likely to get the job if they get their application first. Or does it not matter and H&R sends job candidates to the hiring nurse manager all at once? Thanks for help!!:)

I don't think there is one right answer to your question. It would depend on the recruiter's preference and how the system is set up. For example, maybe the system lists applicants from most recent to least recent. So the apps of those who applied as soon as the job was posted are at the bottom of the list. The system also might list the reverse.

I've also known a couple recruiters that select candidates out of a certain pool. Meaning that they post the job Tuesday, go on at noontime on Wednesday and look through the applicants from Wednesday morning. So there really isn't any way to tell. The best thing to do is just apply within the window of opportunity and hope for the best.

ok, thank you for your help. makes my nerves a little more settled for this one job that i am dying for. i wont be done with application until tomorrow (3rd day open, but only a 5 day window period). it also helps me to know for future job applications. thanks again and have a blessed day! :)

Some will give a close date for applying for a position online. Many HR departments prescreen with a phone call to get a sense of who you are and only send a handful of applications to the manager to set up appointments. There is no way a nurse manager can interview everyone that applies for jobs nowadays....so if I were you I would get a profile up on Linkedin where you can state your experiencel but more importantly have previous preceptors, teachers, educators, managers and collegues write a recommendation for you on linkedin. Start now and throughout your career continuously keep your recommendations updated. Be sure to add a professional looking photo of yourself on linkedin. Recruiters check linkedin and if other nurses are there with good recommendations and a photo and you're not...they will most likely call the candidate with the linkedin profile
