Question about Nurse Practioner...

I was talking to someone in school about being a Nurse Practioner. Are there any websites I can go to find out more info? I am looking to find out a semi detailed job description, average salary, availability of the postion around the country, etc... I was told that the position is similar to a PA but I am not sure of the similarities and differences. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!
