I have a very low GPA (would you believe less than 2.0??) from 30 years ago because I attended more disco parties than classes

Anyway, I want to be an RN now so I need to retake quite a few classes to lift my GPA.
I was thinking maybe it would be better if I do the LPN 1st (12 months at a tech school that does not care about old college credit),
get stellar grades, and then try to get into the LPN/RN bridge program at the community college. Do you think the community college nursing program would look at me more favorable with great grades and a LPN license (and working in the field)?
If I go straight to the CC, I'll spend about 3 semester retaking and focusing on prereqs before I can even apply for admission to the RN program.
Thanks!
