Orientation process for new RN employee/fresh graduate
- 0Jul 9, '13 by Adrian32When one lands a nursing job for the first time, what's the typical orientation process like? Is there a period of mentoring where the newbie can learn firsthand from an experienced staff member? I'm a US citizen foreign grad looking to work in the US and I'm concerned that I'll probably need a lot of catching up to speed especially when it comes to the more advanced machines and equipment in the US. Thanks.

Sometimes hospitals put new grads through mini-internships when they are first brought on to make sure they are competent and comfortable on their own. It is a good question to ask at your job interview!
