older nurse having trouble finding a job

I have worked 35 years as an RN. In the past, I never, ever had any difficulty finding a job as a nurse. Matter of fact as a critical care nurse I usually had several offers to choose from. I just relocated to Chicago, IL. For the first time I am having difficulty finding a nursing position. My resume, references, and performance appraisals are all excellent. I look much younger than I actually am. I have no disabilities or illnesses. And yet I am not even getting interviews. I have called several nurse recruiters and they obviously will not tell me a reason why I was not interviewed for a job. Nothing has changed except that I am now 57 years old. I have a sick feeling that the hospitals in the area are not hiring me because of my age. What am I to do?
