nurse externships

by vervain

Hi all-
I have been searching for information on nurse externships ( i am third semester RN bound) but was hoping that someone knew of a site that would be a bit more helpful. I live in NYC but would love to be away for the summer (who wouldn't). Any suggestions, or advice? Anyone who has done an externship or knows of one at their hospital?
thanks jennifer

I am in Texas but can recommend you call the Human Resources Dept of various facilities to see what is offered. They may offer you a job as an aide, or care tech, instead of extern. I would recommend taking it, if that is the only option, as you will still learn LOTS of stuff. Good luck in your search.
