    Does anybody know where I can get my NRP certification outside of employment? I am currently a "new grad" from May 2010 still looking for a job I am in the Southeast Texas area around Houston and Galveston. And if there are any other certifications that would help, I will take any advice you have to offer. Thanks much!

    you can use the nrp provider resources to locate either a course or an instructor in your area.

    if you search for courses you must consider that many institutions might run courses and not list them with nrp.

    when you search for instructors it provides you an option to send an e-mail; this will allow you to request information regarding upcoming courses that might not be posted.

    another option is the nrp online examination. however, if you choose this option you still must meet with an instructor to complete the practical evaluation portion. prior to choosing this option i would definitely contact an instructor to ensure availability.

    lastly, you might try contacting the nursing education department of local hospitals for information regarding upcoming courses.
