NP or PA

Hello All! I am just starting my prereqs for nursing, when I came across the Phys. Assist website. I had always thought I wanted to be a NP. Getting my BSN then pursuing my NP. However, I saw that the PA is the same amount of time as the BSN in most cases.
A friend of mine mentioned however, that NP have more job opportunities as they are RN's as well, and if no NP jobs avail, they can do nursing.

My question is: continue to pursue my BSN then follow through with NP, or pursue my PA?

Thanks!!
