New Grad, Newly Licensed, ready for a job!

by sun2008

Hi!
I am a new grad BSN, moved back to N. Cali and am currently looking for a job. I know that it has been very challenging securing a position up here, and I was wondering if anyone could lend any advice for which road to take? I was offered a temporary part time position with American Laser as an RN and am unsure if this will impede my nursing skills and be more of a step backwards, or if it should be looked upon as a temporary position in which i could still pursue looking for a hospitals that offer New Grad RN programs. Someone told me that any experience would help with my resume, but I'm wondering if that is true. Any advice would be helpful! Thanks!!

hello I was wondering if you accepted that offer to work for American Laser? I was recently offered a full time position there as well. I'am currently now in your situation. I don't know which road to take. It's hard to get into any new grad programs nowadays. I'm even having some bad luck getting a job at a LTC facility. They too are not hiring as well in my area. I'm glad that I was offered a job from ALC but I'm afraid I'll get too comfortable or this experience will make me forget the stuff I learned in Nursing Schools.
