I am going to be graduating nursing school (Lord willing) in August, and am in need ot a good Cover Letter to attach to my resume. Any ideas? I have googled the topic and it hasn't been of much help...

Thanks,

There are links to examples of cover letters in one of the "stickies" on this thread. But from what I have learned, the general format is 3-4 paragraphs.

In the first paragraph you should introduce yourself and say a little about yourself (i.e. I will graduate from school X in August), and how you heard about the job.

In the second paragraph, you should list some of your qualifications and strengths, as well as areas of interest.

In the third paragraph, you should talk about why you would be a good fit for the position.

In the fourth paragraph, you should state how you will be following up (i.e., "I will call you next week to discuss setting up an interview") and also how you can be reached.

The whole letter should not be longer than one page. These are just some basic guidelines, but it should help to get you started.
