I recently did my preemployment testing for a nursing home job. I did my screening at our local hospitals OHS. It showed a false positive, i'm saying false because I do not use anything like that. So i lost that job. Now the hospital themselves called and offered me a job, I don't know what to do. Can i request to test at their sister hospital?? I do not want to be discriminated by the OHS staff and DR plus I now do not trust them as far as I can throw them!!! Can they even refer that to the facility of my previous screening???

Did you get a copy of the test? I would definately ask for one. I would think legally you have the right to know what it revealed and/or if it was your test and not someone else's that they mixed you up with.
It seems strange that the hospital who did the testing, believes the test to be positive yet called to offer you a job. The whole thing just doesn't add up. I would definately investigate. Good Luck, let us know.

Well, the other facility can't relay your health information to other employers. I can say that you just won't be able to reaplly to that nursing home for a year. If the hospital requires you to take a drug test, retake it and see what happens. Some hospitals send it to a lab, so you have no idea what happened to your specimen, because you can't see it.
That is the problem with drug testing, they aren't 100% accurate. It happened to me when I was younger as a certified nursing assistant and it was very embarassing.
In the future I watch them do the test right in front of me to see that they really obtained that result. Most of the time, I won't even apply to a job that requires drug testing, because of what happened to me in the past.
