LPN/RN for people with Masters degrees in other fields

by nursn2b

Hi Everyone,

I am a Clinical Laboratory Technologist with Masters degree and more than 4 yrs of clinical experience. I am contemplating a career change and considering Nursing seriously.

Can someone please post here whether someone like myself will be eligible to apply for an LPN/RN course online and then pursue the clinical component at a local hospital.

I know that Uni of Phoeniz and others do offer nurse completion BS. Also, heard about Deaconess online courses. Is it possible to take individual online courses (such as Nursing, Health and Disease Management, Foundation of Professional Nursing, Human Anatomy and Physiology) and then apply for credits for previous education and get an LPN license once I complete the clinical aspects.

Can someone provide some insights into nursing education for a newbee to the nursing field like myself.

Thank you.

Program Overview
This program allows qualified students who already have a Bachelor’s degree to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) within a 12 month time period. Students must meet admission qualifications and have completed all academic prerequisites before the beginning of the program
.
This is the only one I know of that meets your specifications. Admission is TOUGH and working is said to be next to impossible.

(Deaconess/Chamberlain only accepts students in certain states. Excelsior requires you to be an LVN, paramedic, respiratory therapist, PA or already have completed 50% of the clinical component of an RN program)
