learning disability and remembering meds?

Nurses Career Support

thinking of going for rn instead of lvn but knowing you have to remember so much meds, what do nurses do they pass out meds or what? what do Rns actually do? i'm thinking of getting ahead and buying a nclex study review guide to get ahead while i take the pre classes for nursing.

I suggest you try to shadow a nurse for a day and see what she does. How can you be sure you will like it if you aren't sure what nurses even do? Remembering medications is one of the things nurses do, but not the only thing. LVN's and RN's do most of the same things, but there are some differences depending on what state you are in. It also depends on the facility (some places have RNs in charge of assessments and LVNs in charge of meds... but not all)

The NCLEX review book will help a lot while you are in school, but I would suggest focusing on making really good grades in your core classes and waiting on the NCLEX review book.
