Thinking of working for Kaiser. The free health benefits are very attractive. I want to hear from those with experience working with Kaiser and using Kaiser as health insurance in Southern California. Happy?? Not?? Please give me your opinions. This is a big decision for me.

Thanks!!!

Did you ever find out anything on Kaiser? I'm having the same dilemma!

Thanks,

You are my one and only response! I ended up taking a non-Kaiser job as it was just too complicated a process and when it came down to it I really didn't want Kaiser as my health insurance. I have heard mostly good things through the grapevine. Good Luck!

Oh I wouldn't want Kaiser health insurance if I were you---they're the best HMO there is and they still don't cut it.

I'm not concerned about the hmo. I'm concerned about the type of employer they are.

No one here seems to know or work for them I guess.

Hi, I work with Southern Ca Kaiser and I like it, so far. I've been with them for 5 years (actually the longest I've been with an employer!) and liking it even more. I think the benefits and the pay are great. It is unionized though, so expct some union fees (they take out $60 per payperiod). What is great too is that you can transfer to another facility or department; y ou will have that opportunity. I guess it would be similar with other hospitals in Southern California but the perks, benefits, pay, opportunities kind of gave it away.

Hope that helped.

I lived in CA many many years ago. I worked at the state hospital and had Kaiser hospital as my HMO provider. It was wonderful. They paid for everything practically. It was the best insurance I had ever had. Of course, that was many years ago so I don't know if they are still as wonderful these days. Good luck :wink2:

I never got a call back from them, so I assume they hired someone else anyway. Oh, well!

Yes once in awhile when someone isn't smart enough to hire me I always tell myself "Hey it's their loss". :chuckle
