Job

by lynnly

I will be starting 1st level clinicals in a couple of weeks and would like advice about whether I should try to obtain a part-time job in the hospital or wait until I have a better foundation, perhaps during next semester. I really don't have any experience in ths field, I'm coming from a 22 yr career of doing hair.

Default Re: Job
If you don't have to work, don't. You don't want to be learning a job and orienting at the same time you're learning basic nursing. It would be stressful for one and confusing for another because what you do on the job is definitelly not what's going to be expected in clinicals.

Get a feel for what demands clinicals are going to place on you and then worry about a job. Having clinical experience might better qualify you for a good entry level job that might even lead to an RN position.

Good luck.

If you have to work to make ends meet, go for it.
