Okay, I'm trying to get a job in Portland, Oregon from out of town (Southern Oregon Coast). I've applied to OHSU, Providence, and Legacy online. Even though I've uploaded my resume onto my profiles at the OHSU and Providence websites (Legacy's site said that they'd prefer to request a resume instead of just being sent one), I'm tempted to send resumes via snail mail to OHSU and Providence. Would that be appropriate? I'm never one to sit on my hands, waiting for someone else to act. My parents drilled it into my head that if I ever wanted a job, to be persistent, almost to the point of annoying. So, any advice about what I should do while I'm still down south? How often should I call and check on my application? And what to say when I get the voicemail? I'm not really wanting to move and then get hired, but if I have to move without a job, I'll do it.
