Is nursing for me?

I am currently 31 years old, married for 10 years mother of 2. I am a full time stay at home mom and a college student. My mother in a LPN and I am trying to get into the RN program. I was denied the first time so my confidence level has dropped drastically.I've taken almost all of my basic classes except micro. I'm currently taking microbiology and barely passing. I want to be a nurse so bad, but starting to doubt myself. I want to do this for my boys but most importantly, me. I'm up set cause I didn't get in and so many of the other girls in my class did. And they are all way younger than me. It just makes me feel that I'm not good enough in some way. What can I do to get that spark back, the inspiration to get back with the program and the try, try again? I need someone to set me straight and help me get that confidence back. HELP!!!

Default Re: Is nursing for me?
GPA is a very important criteria in many programs. Is it too late to drop micro? Don't risk your GPA by hanging in too long if you are not doing well in a course. Are you able to get any feedback as to how you stacked up relative to the admission criteria? If so, how can you strengthen your weak areas? Is this the only school you can attend? If not, apply at another school.

Hang in there - the selection ratio (# applicants / # accepted) can vary and you may luck out simply based on how many people apply at the same time as you. You may need to apply several times before begin accepted.
