How to best go about getting my RN

Has anyone gone the paramedic then RN route? I like the idea of starting to work in just a year (there is a accelerated medic program). working for a year, then doing a mobility RN program and probably getting the hospital I work for to pay for it. I have a choice to make. I could move to remote alabama and get an ADN in nursing or stay where I am and get my a paramedic degree in a year, work a year, and get my RN with one of the mobility programs. In the long run would having a paramedic background in nursing be any advantage? Or would it just be good to do if I wanted to do it for a while?
