Help me choose: BSN or Bachelors in Healthcare Mgmt. Degree

I am a first year nursing student, I have an Associates Degree in Humanities and currently pursuing my AAS in Nursing- Question is when I become an RN, should I pursue a BSN or Bachelors in Healthcare Management.
My plans are as follows:
Floor Nurse 5-10 yrs.
Management Position in Nursing 10-15 yrs
Possibly work as a Teacher of Nursing until Retirement or School Nurse.

What is the best choice.
Also- I am considering becoming a NP eventually (maybe).

By the way, my former supervisor who is the Head Nurse (Manager) does not have a BSN- she has a Bachelors in Management and an RN, and the other staff nurses with BSN who applied for the position did not get it- that's really the reason for the question.

Hello, michele08540,

My advice is to pursue the BSN or even better, the MSN. Why? If you desire teaching in the future you will require the MSN. You are correct in the fact when working in the hospital, the degree of BSN does not matter as much when getting into management if you have a degree in another helath-related field like Healthcare Management.

And, if you are desiring NP, you should go on and secure the MSN as well.
