Help! First Interview as LPN

Hi all! My name is Ashley and I am a 22 year old LPN. I am a new graduate who is currently on the job hunt. I have my first interview at an Intermediate-Care facility on Thursday and do not know what to expect.

I have spoken to some of my nurse friends and they have all said that interviews could consist of general questions or technical questions but most often a mix of both. I find my weakest area in interviews is having to answer scenario-based questions. My most recent clinical was last year so I am feeling a little rusty in the theory department as well. Also, I have not gone for an interview since before enrolling in nursing school so I guess you could say that I definitely have some interview anxiety going on.

My question to you: do you have any tips, or advice to give me in terms of preparing for this interview? What kinds of questions have you been asked in interviews before? Should I brainstorm some scenario-based questions to ask myself before Thursday?

Thank you for reading and hope to hear from you soon!

Default Re: Help! First Interview as LPN
In my experience, I've never been asked any scenario-like questions.
I usually remember being asked 'why do you want to work here' - so be sure to have a reply for that. And how about 'what skills can you bring to this position to make you the best candidate'?

Here are a few questions to ask them - which they usually seem to ask.
1. How would you describe your ideal candidate?
2. What's the common career path in the company for someone in this role?
3. What are the most important skills for the job?

Hope this info is helpful. Tara
