Graduating PN student moving to Texas

Is your NS recognised by Texas? (I'm betting not). All you can do is get an Indiana license and apply to Texas for reciprocity. It is a PIA, but it is probably the only way.

You might also call the Texas BON and ask them.

I was granted my California LVN license in late January 2006. About a week later, at the end of January, I sent my application for licensure endorsement to the Texas B.O.N.E. along with a 2x2 passport-sized picture of me, fingerprint cards, and the $200 personal check. My temporary Texas LVN license was granted on February 2, and afterward I immediately found a job. My permanent Texas license was granted on March 7. I was amazed at how speedy the endorsement process was.

Obtaining my Texas LVN license was relatively hassle-free because I sent them a large envelope with my application, personal check, photo, completed fingerprint cards, and other authorization forms. Basically I sent the Texas B.O.N.E. a complete package with everything they needed to expediently process my application. If I were you, I would call the Texas B.O.N.E. to request that an LVN endorsement application be mailed to you along with the fingerprint cards.

Take the fingerprint cards to a local police department or sheriff's station so they can print you. Go to a photographer to get a recent 2x2 passport-sized photograph taken of you. If you get the ball rolling and send the TX B.O.N.E. everything in one big envelope, your Indiana license will be endorsed into Texas relatively quickly. Good luck and welcome to Texas.
