- Jun 10, '12 by toddmeyer11I don't think highschools offer CNA training. You take that after highschool at a college. The training consists of 2 parts. The first part is classroom training at the college. Then when you pass that part, you do the clinicals / on-the-job training at a nursing home. After passing both parts, you take a state written test and state skills test for your CNA license and placement on your state's Nurse Aide Registry.

- Jun 11, '12 by teason4I live in nc and i know the high schools around here you are able to take cna but once you finish with that class you still go to take your state exam. Now our colleges no longer offer the lpn program its just the rn program now. Most places ate wanting rn not lpn and lpn can only work like alf but they are using med techs now. So its better to just get your rn thats what i am doing
