General nursing question

I am a senior majoring in business administration. I want to get my RN/BSN. Has anyone done this? What kind of position or salary could I expect? On salary.com for a RN is all around 50k; but on this board it seems like the highest I have seen is like 35/hr....? Money is not the most important aspect of my venture to nursing but I would like to get a realistic answer.

Also is there any bsn programs with a specialization in er medicine or do most just get their bsn or rn and then pick what they want to do?

Thanks in advance

Nursing pay depends on where you live. All nurses sit for the same boards and specialize after graduation. I make 85K base pay (5 years experience). Nursing administrators make much more where I live.

Do you have your BSN or other bachelor's degree? I see you are an RN. What city is that in, I take it by your name you work in the cardiac unit...? Are you an administrator?

I have an ASN in nursing working online toward BSN. I am head nurse for Cardiothoracic Surgery in an operating room. I work in San Francisco. I am not an administrator. Administrator is a different career track. If you complete your bachelors degree in business I would recommend going straight to MSN (Masters degree in nursing). Running a hospital is a difficult and rewarding job that just might be perfect for you.
