From Med-Surg to ???

Hi! I'm new to this nursing forum and this is my first post I'm curious to hear of the opinions from the more seasoned nurses out there...

I earned my BSN in 2004 and I've been a RN for a year and three months on a busy med-surg floor, working day/night rotating shifts. I've learned (and continue to learn) so much there! I really do like med-surg but I find I'm getting antsy for a change, want to develop other skills, and would also like to get off night-shift. A friend suggested I look into getting critical care experience but honestly the interest isn't there. I've actually been kind of curious about hospice after being with some of the terminal wean patients on our floor...

My question is this: am I too 'young' of a nurse to make a switch yet? I think what I'm really looking for is a way to combine some hospital work with another field of nursing. Your thoughts would be appreciated!
