Email followup after informal interview

I had an informal interview during a clinical day with a NM about two weeks ago and gave him my resume. I also mailed a thank you note out a few days later thanking the NM for his time, etc. But I haven't heard anything since and would love to work on the unit. Would it be okay to email the manager and restate my interest? How should I word it?

In this internet society, I think it is perfectly fine to email a thank you note to a manager. Include in the note when you met and how you feel that you can add value to that manager's area. Best wishes.
