Considering a career in nursing, Advice please!

Hi, I posted this thread in the wrong place, So am posting it here.

My name is Ashlee, I'm 18, almost 19 years old, And I want to become a nurse. My mom was diagnosed with a terminal illness about 3 years ago, And I just fell in love with the idea of becoming a nurse, helping people feel comfortable and I'm also fine with all the hard work of being a nurse..blood or bodily fluids don't bother me one bit.

I was just wondering if some of you could share your experiences in nursing school, Did you find it really hard, How time consuming is it, What was your favorite and least favorite part of nursing school?

I just want to get a general idea of how others experience was with it, I know its a rewarding job and will be worth it.

Also, Feel free to share any tips or advice

thanks!

Nursing school can be both fun and challenging. If you are interested in becoming a nurse, you should volunteer or try to get a part-time job in a hospital. You can then ask to shadow some nurses and talk with them about their experience. You will have to take basic science and math courses, so you should prepare for those. The science and math are challenging for some people. Personally, the most difficult nursing school experience for me was a rotation I did in a nursing home, but it's different for everyone. I liked my peds rotation, but almost everyone else in my class hated it. Good luck.
