Considering a Career in Nursing

Updated Jul 16, 2006 at 04:41 PM by sirI

hello everybody, i just wanted to stop by and say hello as i'm new on this site. i do have a career question and i will post it here as i 'm not sure how to navigate on this site yet. my husband is an RN and i'm seriously considering persuing this myself. i currently hold a BS in Biotechnology and i was wondering what way to follow in becoming a nurse faster than normal 4 years. can i follow an advanced degree system considering that i already have a degree? or a master in nursing?( well, i don't even know if this is possible). i would apreciate very much if somebody would point me in the right direction.
thank you very much for listening me.

Hi. Try watching the video here to learn about navigating the site. http://allnurses.com/forums/f246/vid...om-149297.html

To answer your question there is a program for persons with degrees in other fields called "accellerated BSN". Basically it's a fast paced program that gets you a BSN within a year. They are competetive to get into, they are very expensive, and they are a lot of hard work. But that is one of the best ways for someone like you to get into the nursing profession.

Please feel free to ask any other questions you have.

Good luck.
