Nurses Career Support

I have my cna license right now, but I am considering perusing lpn. I'm scheduled for an entrance exam next month. I used my cna license for about 7months..and then quit my job. I had hated the place I worked at, with a passion. It was nursing home, and not a very nice one. Staff was rude and just difficult. I tried doing the best for the patients but I'd either be in trouble for not rushing or because I needed help (even when the patient required two person asisstance.) I'm hoping I only had problems because it was a nursing home which can get difficult. I worry I am going to hit this same wall (Frustration) with an lpn license.

Have you looked at the job market in your area? Are there any LPN jobs outside of LTC? If not, you may end up in exactly the same circumstances. I'm sure that this would be a huge disappointment after investing the time and money for your license. Have you considered getting your RN instead? You may also want to look into respiratory therapy or phlebotomy.

RN would land the OP in the same boat :(
