Called back for a second interview

Hi everyone. I'm not a nurse yet, but I'm student waiting for a spot in clinicals.

Meanwhile, I decided to enroll in a Certified Medical Assistant/PCT course. Almost 2 weeks ago, I interviewed for a job, and received a call Tuesday night for a second interview with the doctor. The job is entry level, but the hours are great and they're willing to cross train me. Now, the human resources director told me Tuesday night, her assistant would be calling me the next day to arrange the interview since she is going on vacation. Someone did call Wed. ( I checked the caller I.D.), but didn't leave a message. This has me a little worried...should I call back and maybe touch base with the assistant? I'm not exactly sure how to handle this. I really want the job and don't want it to pass me by, but don't want to be pushy either. Would it be proper job hunting etiquette to inquire about the call? Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

I would definately call back. It would not be considered pushy. Call back and tell them you are just following up on your recent interview. I would tell them that you were told there would be a second interview and you wanted them to know you can be available at their first convenience.

If you want it...go for it!
