Best Place To Start Working

I'm a new grad lvn, and i was wondering if you would suggest working in a assisted living over a convalescent home? Any suggestions would be appreciated

Hmmm - it depends on many factors:

1. If you have job shadowed, which place did you like the most?

2. Distance to facility (important with sky-rocketing gas prices).

3. Benefits.

4. Pay.

5. Last but not least, as a new grad you really need to hone your assessment and organizational skills. Which place would give you the most experience.

I do want to add a caveat that in the midwest (where I live) it is very hard to get a hospital job if you only have long term care or asst living experience. You might be limiting yourself.
