I need to buy nursing shoes(not sneakers or clogs) and I need to know what are the best ones and anyone know a good, trustworthy website or ctalog to go with to buy this stuff?(preferably one you have done business with before) I also need to buy a stethascope and I want a really good one. Is Litmann the best and where should I get taht as well. I would love if there was a catalog or site where I could both items in one spot. Thansk in advance! :p

Anyone here know of any good sites or catalogs? I would love to hear from you. :)

don't have a suggestion for shoes ... if you can't wear sneakers, you won't probably find anything really great. (sorry)

steth though ... littmann has been the gold standard for years, it's what i am still using (cardiology ii) but most of the cardiology/pulmonary nurses that i work with are going to ultrascopes when they need to replace one. they have individualized heads, and can be engraved with you name. would suggest whatever brand you buy, get the longer tubing - may be a bit harder to hear at first ... but if you are listening to breath & heart sounds ... and they are coughing ... you will appreicate those extra couple inches :) i've suggested the following web site to some of my students for a deal (have never ordered from them ... so can't vouch for the company ... but don't have any reason to mistrust them.)

Specializes in Hey I'm now an RN!!.

Hello,

:uhoh3: Sounds ridiculous but a friend of mine bought her stethescope on Ebay. Loves it. So I did the same, Littman Master Classic II. Have no complaints bought it brand new for $30 cheaper than in stores. You just have to watch the description-make sure it is new and email the seller if you have Q's. Happy Hunting!

I bought Hush puppies bounce all white walkers, I have really small feet (about a 3 in little girls) and they carried womens 5's and in a wide they have worked very well thru 2 semesters. I have heard good and bad about nursemates but you just have to make sure the fit is good. IF you do a search I know when I started this board there was alot of discussions about this so do a search with the word shoes and see what you think. I will not use a cheap steth mine is a Littmann Cardo and it was retail about 160 bucks I bought it on ebay for 65.00 brand new, drove 90 miles away to pick it up and saved myself the shipping so go shopping on EBAy but go to allheart uniforms or one of those sites and look and read about all the different ones then decide there are links here at this site that lead to allot of online uniform shops and they usually carry steths Good luck
