Agency Nursing

by desertnurse222 Premium Member

Hi!
I was recently let go from a small private company. Thankfully, I had been moonlighting with some agency shifts, so that has been how I'm paying the bills. But the more I do it, the more I'm thinking, hey-this is kind of a cool gig. I mean, the pay is better, you get to make your own schedule (work as much or as little as you choose), and you get to stay out of all of the crappy politics that haunt hospital units. I know there are cons (first to be cancelled, always going somewhere new), but these just don't see that big of a drawback to me right now. So far I've not been cancelled and both of the units I've worked have asked that i come back, so the disorientation has been kept to a minimum.

Any of you out there pay the bills by working purely agency? Thoughts?
