Advice please

Hi there

I had a good chat to my manager today. As the other day I handed in my resignation. When she received my letter she was slightly shocked she informed me. I went to discuss with her the areas of interest and what has been bothering me. She listened and she advised me to think about my decision and to let her know if I wanna follow through with resignation.

Also, in the next couple of days, I have a job interview for another unit. I am not sure how it will fair, but how do I tell the interviewer that i am like well in a way I am shopping around for an area that I may think could work out for me. Of course there is an interest to work in the area of where I am getting interviewed but how do I professionally advise that I am keeping my options open to see what this Unit provides and more?

Do I tell my current manager of this Interview that I am going to in the next few days?

Look forward to your reply

It sounds like your manager was surprised because maybe she didn't realize you were having a difficult time? It also sounds like she wants to work through it with you.
Did she mention giving you extra time or trying out new tactics? Would you want to?

Having a supportive administrator behind you can make things so much better.

Perhaps you just realized this is not the line of work you want or the niche for you. Better to be straight up if you are going to be staying within that institution. You may just need a recommendation.

Good luck and let us know what the outcome is!

Hi Chloe

Well my manager didnt really offer any advice only to think about my decision. So I am surprised that nothing else was offered.

I mentioned to her the possibility of going casual or resigning and when I do I will tell her to her face about the idea of resigning.

I am sticking around till I find something good that I can work on that is my Niche.

So maybe in the next few weeks I will be following up with my resignation.

The unit itself is very heavy and not much support to help out as nurses are constantly busy. My upper back at the moment is very sore.

I will keep you posted

regards

Kylie
