adolescent psychiatric nursing

Dont know where to ask this but could someone give me the "insides" of life as an adolescent psychiatric nurse. My experience has been in general medicine and jail nursing. I think I would love this field but everyone I talk to says "run fast." Could someone please tell me what I am supposed to "run from" before I commit to my new "love."
