Welcome to Allnurses.com!

Have you considered applying for a position in case management? Many major insurance companies such as Liberty Mutual and BC/BS are willing to hire and train nurses into this role.

Have you thought about a clinic/outpatient setting? Especially with your experience in L&D.

I am in nursing school and today I had a rotation with a middle school nurse. She was an L&D nurse for over 10 years before she decided to be a school nurse. She still does PRN nursing at L&D just to keep her skills but she only goes once a month and works a little more in the summer. It's just an idea, it might be a good field to settle down into. Slower paced (but not as slow as you might think!) and you get weekends, holidays and summers off.
