Welcome to the Forum - General Aussie Chat

World Australia

Published

Having been guilty myself of hijacking threads saying hello and just chatting to my fellow Aussies I thought it might be worthwhile for us to have a thread that is just dedicated to general Aussie chat. We can then discuss issues like the Morris - oops Davis inquiry in Queensland and what it will mean for Q health and for the rest of Australia.

We can talk cricket, sport and anything else that is just us.

Say hello to new members dropping by.

Generally find out what is happening in the rest of the country.

I will make this thread a "sticky" so that it will always be at the top of the forum.

Hi all, i am brand new to this site and thought i'd have a look and a chat. I am a div 1 in victoria and work mainly at a Gp clinic.

Hi Mez,

Great to see another Aussie on here

Just one warning from one student to another........this website is highly addictive, when you are at your computer and are meant to be studing.....somehow this website has 'popped up' on your screen and next thing that you know, it is hours later, no studying has gotten done, but you have caught up on the threads that interest you and have learnt lots :chuckle

Has anyone been watching the Commonweath Games? There has been some great moments of sport and mateship by all the countries.

certainly have ausnurse! agree, some great sporting moments. the most 'tragic' moment was when our male runner, in the 1500 i think it was, fell as a result of being knocked from behind by the person behind him who fell! i can't recall our boys name just now, but he was the favourite to win that race! yet, his attitude afterwards was inspiring! he turned something negative into a positive!

can't say i was overly impressed with the closing ceremony last night though. i reckon india in 2010 will be colourfu[color=gray]l! :) :balloons:

Yes he was inspiring. Walking straight off the field just after the race but comming back a short time later after watching the race on tape to give an interview. Showing no malice and being very open. Great sportsmanship!

I especially liked watching the weight lifters, especially the two Aussie 105+ breaking the records one after each other.
