Australia and New Zealand have mutual recognition so all you need to do is apply for a practising certificate in the state you want to work in and pay the appropriate fees.

Hi guys i already have my ielts and preparing my documents to be attached in my application form. But i am worried because my IELTS is like this: 7.5 Listening, 6.5 Reading, 6.5 Writing and 7 Speaking with total of 7. Do you think it would be alright if i have 6.5 in my Writing? thanks

I do not know if this can help you, but i had the same problem with you before. But when i emailed the Council in Victoria, regarding the worlk experience they responded me that the 2 years experience includes academic years that you are exposed to clinical areas and your job right now if applicable. to be sure, it would be better to email NSW and inquire about it. I am a June 2007 passer as well and currently a volunteer for almost 6 months now and planning to apply in differenet state of Australia, instead of applying in Victoria. By the way, there was one website that i browsed before that contains the requirements of all states, i will try to post it here if i can still find it. See you soon.

Nalene, I think to practice here you need an English score of 7.5. Contact the NZ Nursing council and ask them for their advice. We have Fillipino nurses working in rest homes in Christchurch for 13.00 an hour because they are having difficulty passing the English exams. You need to get that sorted before anything else. Then you need to do a Competency based course through a local Polytechnic in order to get a Practising Certificate.

Sorry, but they have never included school as work experience before and do not think that is the case now either. No country considers training as work experience when applying for licensure as well as the volunteer training in your country as well.

Just have not seen it happen when someone has applied to there, you are going to need to complete a bridge program more than likely.

You are correct, the English exams need to be passed and at that level in order to get a license to work as an RN there.

thanks suzanne4 for the information...in my case i'm willing to take up a bridging course no problem with that...but i'm thinking if in the assessment by the ANMC do u have any idea if they will be requiring a work experience coz i have none so far. but if the requirement is only ielts and bridging course then i'm willing to go through that? do u have any idea about the necessity of work experience?
