I went home and cried for two full hours - moped around the house in a catatonic depressed state for two days and I refused to pay for the early results - my husband did it instead without my knowing. He came into the kitchen while I cooked dinner for our six children (who really needed me to pass this test) and put his arms around my waist and said "congratulations nurse williams" he was crying - I was literally so stunned I couldn't respond.

OMG. I absolutely love this story because it matches what happed to me exactly 4 days ago. I just found out Saturday morning that I had passed! The only difference between your story and mine is that on the drive back home I cried most of the way and when I got home I went straight to bed for the rest of the day. I couldn't eat or sleep for the next 48 hrs. And there I was complaining about being in labor with my first daughter for 16 hrs!Not to mention that all of my studying had to be done while packing up my husband to PCS to Missouri and dealing with the emotions of my 8 and 3 yr old girls. I'm also on the roller coaster ride of finding a job now. Gotta love the ride!!! Blessings to you!

I've sent the link this thread to my mom, bc she is thinking about going back to become an LVN, and her hesitation is....."I'm too old!" I always tell her, you are never too old to do something you love. If you're going to love it, what does it matter how old you are?

You can either look forward to work everyday or look forward to retirement....the choice is yours.

Absolutely! Please let her know that the studying and interaction with younger students will make her feel ageless! It's good for your neurons, it's great being an older student and she will probably have great rapport with her patients too!

okay, i have a weird question for who ever may be able to help me out; does anyone in here know if Kansas City, MO is a good place to live in? My hubby got an offer to work there and considering how the situation is we would have to move there soon if I dont get my license activated within appropriate time. He has until this Friday to accept offer. I in the other hand, had an offer to the northern part of california (middle of nowhere-not even a mcdonalds) and a hospital in southern california is awaiting for me to present my activated RN number, this doesnt mean i'll get a job, but they will consider my application. turned in life 40 application california since April and these are the only places that have made an intent to help me out. no actual offer though. and so, even though I wan to move back to California and be with my family, i think it's not going to be possible.
Do you guys think i should await and see if southern california offers me a new grad job or just move to kansas city with my hubby and four kids and endorse my license to that state. Geez, I wish Ca would expedite these procedures in a quicker manner. I'm burned out from thinking so much and what to do. He was laid off in January and he has now finally gotten hired and I feel bad for him too if I push negativity on to him, he has lost 20 lbs on stress alone. So, how is life in Kansas City? What areas are dangerous to live at?

40 year old new grad just took NCLEX yesterday and computer shut off at 75. I want to print your article and show to everyone who asks me how I could not know if I did well. So, please tell me, what did you find when you researched about failing after 75 questions???? I can't imagine waiting months like many of you had to do and I don't expect any sympathy when I say this, but, why can't the computer just tell you what it was predicting about you with 95% certainty after the 75 questions???

I found that 85% of US trained nursing students pass the first time. Good luck with the wait. The number of questions didn't matter.
