First pope to resign in about 700 years! I kind of think it was a rational move on his part, some popes stay on and on, long after they are even able to perform basic ADLs, let alone lead a church. He had so many difficult things to deal with, too, had to be very draining and stressful, i'd imagine.
Anyone think the church should maybe consider younger popes, or, would that leave the church too long under one pope?
Anyone think the church will use this opportunity to shift the direction of the church? (church has always been morphing, always).
Thoughts? Just interested to hear how people think about this.
